Indy Wine Trail BBQ Weekend

INDIANAPOLIS - Seven central Indiana wineries will be featuring wines and BBQ perfect for your summer celebrations during a weekend long event in July. The BBQ Weekend will take place July 14 and 15, 2007 at the participating wineries.

Participating wineries include Buck Creek Winery (Indianapolis), Chateau Thomas Winery (Plainfield), Easley Winery (Indianapolis), Ferrin's Fruit Winery (Carmel), Grape Inspirations Winery ( Carmel ), Mallow Run Winery (Bargersville), and Simmons Winery (Columbus).

Customers can visit each winery from 11AM-7PM during the event to enjoy different BBQ meals and sides paired with one glass of wine at each winery. Mallow Run Winery will be serving Beef Brisket. Simmons Winery will showcase BBQ chicken. Ferrin's Fruit Winery will feature BBQ beef. Grape Inspirations Winery will have a Passion Pork Roast. Buck Creek Winery will feature Pork BBQ. Easley Winery will showcase BBQ sausage and Chateau Thomas Winery will feature buffalo. Please note Simmons Winery will only be serving food until 6PM.

Designated drivers to each winery will also be able to enjoy the food and sides and soda.

"Summer is the perfect time to get out the grill and cook BBQ," said Jeff Durm, co-owner of Buck Creek Winery and president of the Indy Wine Trail. "The Indy Wine Trail is excited to showcase our favorite BBQ's paired with fantastic wine."

Adult tickets are $25 in advance and $35 the day of the event. Designated Driver and kids tickets are also available. Tickets can be purchased at the Indy Wine Trail wineries.

Currently, the Indy Wine Trail is featuring a passport program where visitors receive a free wine glass after visiting all seven wineries.

For those traveling the trail, the participating wineries will offer suggestions for overnight accommodations and meals. Since the trail includes visits to seven wineries, everyone is encouraged to designate a driver and drink responsibly.
