Mallow Run Winery releases wines to benefit breast cancer research.
Bargersville, IN - Mallow Run Winery near Bargersville, Indiana, has released two new wines and will donate a portion of the proceeds from these wines to benefit breast cancer research and awareness.
Mallow Run's new PINK wines are rose' [rose-ay'] wines that are perfect for the Summer grilling season. With one dry rose', and one semi-sweet rose', there's a PINK wine for every taste. -Rose' wines are lightly colored pink wines made from red grape varieties. Red wines extract red color during fermentation with the red grape skins. Rose' wines have little or no skin contact and so contain much less of the red pigments. - The dry version of PINK is a rose' of Zinfandel grapes with aromas of strawberry and notes of red berry and pink grapefruit. The semi-sweet version is made from Syrah grapes and is loaded with strawberry and melon flavors. Both wines retail at the winery for $12.95.
"We're very excited about the release of these wines," said Laura Richardson, one of the owners of Mallow Run. "They're beautiful wines, and the fact that they have a higher purpose is also beautiful. We will donate a portion of each bottle sold to help with medical research that is finding a cure, as well as increasing awareness in the area and promoting early detection. We hope to donate $10,000 in the next year."
Laura's husband Bill said this is a cause that hits close to home. "Mallow Run has employees, friends, and family that have been affected by breast cancer. This is something that we're passionate about and want to do something to help make a difference."
The wines are currently available in the Mallow Run tasting room with plans to begin distribution in Central Indiana in the near future.
