Huber's Orchard, Winery, & Vineyards Hosts Third Annual Local Art & Wine Event - April 16 - 18, 2010
STARLIGHT, Ind. - Huber's Orchard, Winery, and Vineyards is hosting the ir third annual Local Art & Wine Show - April 16 - April 18, 2010. This event is coordinated around the release of a special wine called Stella di Luce. A wine, released only one time each year, made from Huber's Knobstone Vineyard grape varieties - Cabernet Sauvignon and Chambourcin. The idea for this wine spurred from a trip to where the Huber's saw many locals drinking a dry rose wine - called Rosado. Trying some of this local favorite in created the "spark" to produce Huber's own dry, rose wine. What better way to partner the release of such a unique wine than in the company of creative artists that are right in our own back yard!
Local artists, Rand Heazlitt of Harrison Co, IN and Jonathan Swanz of Jefferson Co., KY, are the featured artists this year. Rand has been making clay pots in Kentuckiana for nearly 25 years. Rand 's work consists of spare and simple forms that are designed to take advantage of the word firing and salt glazing processes. To view Rand 's work , visit his website at www.uncommonclay.com. Jonathan Swanz resides in Louisville, Ky and is an influential member of the Louisville glass movement. He works with both blown and kiln-formed glass, making sculptural, decorative, functional, and architectural glass. Jonathan believes hand-made functional art "offers individuals the opportunity to incorporate poetic beauty into everyday experiences that solicit the celebration of life."
