Indiana Uplands Wine Trail Announces Winter 2007 Event

Monday, October 15, 2007

FRENCH LICK-The Indiana Uplands Wine Trail (IUWT) has announced its holiday season event schedule. Indiana's first wine trail, IUWT marks its fourth year of seasonal offerings in 2007.

Comprised of eight wineries-Brown County, Oliver, Butler, Carousel, French Lick, Winzerwald, Turtle Run and Huber-the wine trail kicks off the holiday season with Nouveau Day, Nov. 15 at each winery. Traditionally a day when the wineries announce their newest vintages, this year's Nouveau Day is no exception. All the IUWT wineries are preparing for the holidays and Nouveau Day is a great event to start the season.

During the months of November, December and January, Uplands wineries continue their holiday tradition. "We have renamed and expanded our popular "Christmas with the Wineries" event through the month of January for those who prefer to enjoy the event after the Holiday rush and also give ample time to recipients of gift tickets to leisurely complete the trail." said Kim Doty, President of the IUWT. The new program, "Winter with the Wineries", which runs from Nov. 16 through Jan. 27 or while supplies last, offers wine lovers a chance to visit each winery on the trail and receive a complimentary gift that will complete a Holiday gift basket with a retail value of $100.00. Following the success of last year's program, this year's event promises to be equally seasonal and fun. Tickets may be purchased for $40 at any of the wineries on the trail. The ticket for the event may also be used in conjunction with the Indiana Uplands Wine Trail passport program. Each participant that completes the passport will also be entered into a grand prize drawing which will be held at the 2008 Vintage Indiana Wine Festival in Indianapolis.

Select IUWT wineries will also offer seasonal production facility and cellar tours, complimentary warm mulled hard cider, custom made gift baskets and boxes and seasonal gift ideas. Check out www.IndianaUplands.com for links to individual wineries.
