INDIANAPOLIS - Seven central Indiana wineries are inviting guests to celebrate the holiday season during a weekend long event in December. The Christmas Weekend will take place December 1st and 2nd, 2007 at the participating wineries.
Participating wineries include Buck Creek Winery (Indianapolis), Chateau Thomas Winery (Plainfield), Easley Winery (Indianapolis), Ferrin's Fruit Winery (Carmel), Grape Inspirations Winery ( Carmel ), Mallow Run Winery (Bargersville), and Simmons Winery (Columbus).
Customers can visit each winery from 12PM-6PM on Saturday and from 12PM-4PM on Sunday during the event to enjoy hors d'ouvres, Christmas shopping and a glass of wine! Each winery will also give away a free Christmas ornament! Be sure to visit all seven wineries to get a different ornament at each stop.
"Christmas at an Indiana winery is such a unique experience," said Jeff Durm, co-owner of Buck Creek Winery and president of the Indy Wine Trail. "The Indy Wine Trail is excited to invite people in to our wineries and give them a taste of what Christmas means to us!"
Adult tickets are $15 in advance and $18 the day of the event. Tickets can be purchased at the Indy Wine Trail wineries. The ticket includes one glass of wine or non-alcoholic beverage, Christmas ornament and hors d'ouvres at each winery.
In addition to the Christmas weekend, those doing their Christmas shopping should visit www.indywinetrail.com to find a special 20% off coupon for merchandise in the wineries! The coupon must be printed from the website and excludes wine and gift baskets.
Currently, the Indy Wine Trail is featuring a passport program where visitors receive a free wine glass after visiting all seven wineries.
For those traveling the trail, the participating wineries will offer suggestions for overnight accommodations and meals. Since the trail includes visits to seven wineries, everyone is encouraged to designate a driver and drink responsibly.
