Indiana Uplands Wine Trail Announces Wine and

Chocolate Lover's Weekend

FRENCH LICK-The Indiana Uplands Wine Trail (IUWT) is enticing sweet teeth and sweethearts this February. The cooperative wine group announced today it will once again offer Wine and Chocolate Lover's Weekend events in 2008. Now in its fourth year, the program is gaining regional attention and loyal repeat visitors.

During the weekends of February 9-10 and 16-17, each winery along the trail pairs their wines with delectable chocolate treats. The best part? The event is absolutely free. Now comprised of eight wineries-Brown County, Oliver, Butler, Carousel, French Lick, Winzerwald, Turtle Run and Huber-the wine trail was formed in 2003. All eight wineries from Bloomington south toward Interstate 64 will be pairing mouth-watering wines with chocolates for wine lovers in the region.

Oliver Winery in Bloomington will offer hand-painted Ghyslain chocolates, Bellagio Hot Chocolate, and other chocolate treats, while Winzerwald Winery will have Chocolate & Wine Souffle' and Chocolate Ice Cream & Spiced Wine Parfait as well as Chocolate Blueberry Cracker Thins and Chocolate Wine Balls. Turtle Run Winery will offer - what else? Decadent Chocolate Turtles! Every Uplands winery will have unique chocolate treats and wine pairings for customers to savour.

The winery owners are excited to showcase their vintages with chocolate delicacies. They see this event as a great way to attract both wine lovers and choco-philes alike. Dan Adams, winemaker at Winzerwald Winery comments that: "It's not only fun but an eye opener for customers to find so many wonderful chocolate desserts that match so well with Uplands wines. Our visitors during the event said they got great recipes to use to impress their friends with and had so much fun they'd be back next year with even more people!"
