Wine Trail features Racing Action!

INDIANAPOLIS - Seven central Indiana wineries will be getting ready for the racing season. The Race into the Wineries event will take place May 10-11, 2008 at the participating wineries. Guests are invited to visit each winery from noon-6pm to enjoy all the different festivities, track food and wines that await them.

Participating wineries include Buck Creek Winery (Indianapolis), Chateau Thomas Winery (Plainfield), Easley Winery (Indianapolis), Ferrin's Fruit Winery (Carmel), Grape Inspirations Winery ( Carmel ), Mallow Run Winery (Bargersville), and Simmons Winery (Columbus). This collection of wineries is also known as the Indy Wine Trail.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door. Ticket prices include a glass of wine, track style food and a race-themed gift at each winery.

"May is an exciting time in Indianapolis . The Indy Wine Trail is excited to host an event that will get people excited for the big race," said Jeff Durm, President of the Indy Wine Trail and co-owner of Buck Creek Winery. "Racing and great wine can be found in Indianapolis !"

Currently, the Indy Wine Trail is featuring a passport program where visitors receive a free wine glass after visiting all seven wineries. Trail visitors have until June 1, 2008 to complete the trail to earn the glass.

For those traveling the trail, the participating wineries will offer suggestions for overnight accommodations and meals. Since the trail includes visits to seven wineries, everyone is encouraged to designate a driver and drink responsibly.
