Chateau Thomas Uncorks Two-Day Wine Festival

PLAINFIELD , IN., September 8, 2008.....Chateau Thomas Winery in Plainfield will hold its annual Grape Harvest Festival for two days this year. Scheduled activities will be held 11AM to 10PM on Saturday, October 4th and from noon to 4PM on Sunday, October 5th. This will be the ninth year for this popular Hendricks County festival. Discounts on various wines will be available to all customers throughout the entire weekend.

Winery tours will be held every hour on the hour throughout Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, celebrated winemaker, Dr. Charles Thomas, will conduct component tastings. Normally component tastings are for scheduled groups only, but these are open to the public during the Grape Harvest Fest. Food and wine pairing demonstrations will be conducted by the Chateau Thomas culinary chefs also on Saturday.

The Max Allen Band kicks off live performances at noon on Saturday followed by Dane Clark Band at 3:30 and Chris and the Social Studs will entertain from 7-10PM.

On Sunday join us for a day of Chocolate and Jazz from noon to 4PM. The Monika Herzig Trio, will perform from 1 to 4pm. Le Petit Chateau will start serving up a Signature Chocolate Chili, desserts and other unique menu items incorporating chocolate and paired with a glass of wine. Prices start at $8.00.

Door prizes will be given every hour beginning at noon on Saturday and at 1PM on Sunday. Vendors will be on hand, as well as fortune tellers, and other activities are scheduled for the guests enjoyment.

The admission fee is $5.00. It includes a souvenir glass, three tokens for tastings, party beads, winery tours, food demonstrations, component tastings (on Saturday) and admission to the live music. All ID's will be checked. Children under 21 are free and welcomed when accompanied by their parents.
