Indiana Uplands Wine Trail Announces "Winter in the Uplands" Holiday Event
FRENCH LICK -The Indiana Uplands Wine Trail (IUWT) announced its holiday season event schedule today. Indiana's first wine trail, IUWT marks its fifth year of seasonal offerings in 2008.
Comprised of eight wineries-Brown County, Oliver, Butler, Carousel, French Lick, Winzerwald, Turtle Run and Huber-the Indiana Uplands Wine Trail wanders through picturesque South Central Indiana from Bloomington to Starlight. Each winery offers award winning wines crafted by some of Indiana's best winemakers.
From November 15, 2008 through January 31, 2009, Uplands wineries continue their holiday tradition, "Winter in the Uplands." This program offers wine lovers a chance to visit each winery on the trail, collect a unique item at each winery, and assemble a festive holiday basket with a retail value of over $100.00. Winter in the Uplands will be held throughout the holiday season or while supplies last beginning mid-November through late January. Tickets may be purchased for $40 at any of the wineries on the trail. The ticket for the event may also be used in conjunction with the Indiana Uplands Wine Trail passport program. Each participant with a completed passport will also be entered into a grand prize drawing which will be held at the 2009 Vintage Indiana Wine Festival in Indianapolis and receive an Indiana artist print upon completion of the trail.
"We are thrilled with the growing popularity of our Winter event," said Susie Butler of Butler Winery. "Visitors to the trail really get into the holiday spirit and many look forward to the event year after year. They really like the fact that there is ample time to complete the trail so that bad weather will not interfere. It is especially nice for those receiving the tickets as gifts to have time to enjoy the event after the holidays."
Select Uplands Wine Trail wineries will also offer seasonal production facility and cellar tours, complimentary warm mulled hard ciders and wines, custom made gift baskets and boxes and seasonal gift ideas.
