PLAINFIELD, IN., January 12, 2009...Dr. Charles Thomas, the master of fine wine making in Indiana , will celebrate the 25th Anniversary of his winery, Chateau Thomas, on Friday January 23rd and Saturday, January 24th.
Dr. Thomas, the former Indianapolis OB/GYN who delivered over 7000 babies during his medical career, took up making wine as a hobby 38 years ago. After traveling to Napa for years to study the art of winemaking from California experts, he opened Chateau Thomas on the south side of Indianapolis in 1984. In 1997, it moved to its present location in Plainfield . Over the past 25 years, Dr. Thomas has garnered over 500 medals for his wines entered in international competition.
The weekend-long celebration will kick off on Friday, January 23rd when you can wine down and dance to the sounds of Steve Elston. The Dane Clark Band highlights the weekend with a performance on Saturday, January 24th. Clark tours with John Mellencamp and is one of the winery's regular performers.
There will be wine tastings, special wine discounts and a Limited Edition Anniversary Wine released for this special occasion. Dr. Thomas will be on hand both evenings to autograph these wines for wine enthusiasts.
There is no admission charge for Friday Wine Down with Steve Elston, or the Dane Clark concert. Reservations are not required, but encouraged since seating for both events will be limited. A casual dining menu will be available from 6-9PM and the performances will be 7-10PM both evenings.
The Chateau Thomas 25th Anniversary Celebration begins at the Chateau Thomas Wine Bar in Nashville on Thursday, January 22nd when Dr. Thomas will conduct tastings from 7-9PM
Chateau Thomas Winery is open every day and is located just west of the airport, off I-70 West at Exit 66 in Plainfield . The Wine Bar is located in Coachlight Square on the south side of Nashville .
